Inauguration of the ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÉÏͶעapp Police Station

The Minister of Interior, Major General Zeyad Hab Al Rih, has inaugurated the ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÉÏͶעapp Police Station. The inauguration was attended by the Governor of Jenin, Kamal Abu Al Rob, the President of the ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÉÏͶעapp, Professor Dr. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri, the Commander of the Jenin District, Major General Mohammad Salama, and the Assistant Director General of Police in the Northern Governorates, Brigadier General Marouf Al Barbari, representing the Director General of Police, Major General Yousef Al Hilew, representatives of the Fatah Movement in Jenin, and the leadership of the security bodies in the Jenin Governorate.

The ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÉÏͶעapp had donated a plot of 1000 square meters from its campus to build a police station. This police station was built by the University, and it is of an area of approximately 300 square meters.

The Minister of the Interior, Major General Zeyad Hab Al Rih, appreciated the role of all those who contributed to establishing an advanced center with the aim of providing assistance and support to the of the ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÉÏͶעapp community and the local people in the region, in addition to enforcing law and order. He expressed his pride in the existence of a state of integration in Jenin Governorate for the public interest stressing that the ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÉÏͶעapp Police Station will be able to deal with all issues.

For his part, the Governor of Jenin, Kamal Abu Al Rob, welcomed the Minister of the Interior, Major General Zeyad Hab Al Rih, and all the attendees. He thanked the ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÉÏͶעapp, which donated a plot from its campus and the built the station to culminate its constant efforts to provide security and safety for the University’s students and nearby communities.

In turn, the President of the ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÉÏͶעapp, Professor Dr. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri, indicated that the existence of a police station means a lot to the University, its students, as well as to the surrounding local community. This is because it contributes to creating a safe academic and social environment for the students and the University. The University seeks to achieve development and excellence, not only on campus, but it also off campus, Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri added.

Brigadier Marouf Al Barbari, Assistant Director General of Police in the Northern Governorates, explained that the aim of opening the station is to preserve the security of the University, the surrounding rural areas, and the student housing area. In addition, the opening of this station aims to follow up on negative phenomena that affect the educational process or the order and public security, and to speed up the response, strengthen the police presence in the region, and organize traffic in the area.

In turn, the Director General of Public Relations at the ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÉÏͶעapp, Dr. Fadi Jumaa, said that the opening of a police station comes in light of the University administration harnessing all capabilities to serve the academic process and students.  Since the University provides its academic services to 13,000 male and female students in addition to hundreds of employees, and this area is transformed into a university city par excellence, the University administration desired to have a police station in the area, as it gave a plot and built the station on it off campus.
